All three of these people have great character and I like how these three images work as a set. As a portrait photographer, finding an interesting subject is half the battle. Howard and Cindy are both very talented designers and Tom is a magician.

What's pleasing about this job, is getting a nice consistent feel between both images. I kept the same lighting and processing between portrait and action shot.

This was a set of images that began as a personal project but led to being commissioned for South Yorkshire Police 'Guns and Knives Take Lives' ad campaign. The portrait of the girl was featured in the AOP 2012 Awards.

This is an ongoing personal project of mine on football fans. I find all the different types of people, different faces, characters that all come together on a Saturday afternoon to support their local team fascinating.

This set of images includes shots from both personal shoots and commissions. This series is quite minimal and simple using natural light and reflectors.

The first image of Gavin was featured in this years AOP Awards, and has been a mainstay in my portfolio.

Butcher is a special image for me as it was the first shot I ever got in the AOP Awards. This shot was taken in a newsagent/butchers in Sheffield about 5 minutes walk away from the studio where I was based at the time. His face caught my attention and I decided to grab a shot there and then.

Misty Derbyshire landscapes. I had a quiet day at the studio so thought I would head out into Derbyshire with my camera and see what happened. Really pleased with this set of shots.

These ads were for Uber design agency upon moving into their new studio at Sheffield's iconic Park Hill flats!

Me and a videographer friend shot this set in the studio. We wanted create the impression of a party scene at the end of the night. It was a challenge to light a set of this size and then balance the single portraits with the wider group image.

I wanted to see how quickly I could work to achieve a good portrait because on some jobs you have minutes to react and get the shot. My approach here was to try something simple, clean and quick. I was pleased with the outcome.

The first image was shot for the Iron Door Club debut single. Great bunch of lads.

These set of shots are for KUJI clothing store. They wanted to evoke a simple clean and stylish feel.

I wanted this shot to feel deep and still almost like a painting. Her pose and the lighting was carefully considered to create the desired atmosphere.
